Description of the szip-b method

szip, a block-sorting file compressor, version 1.05Xd. The version used is an unofficial release. © 1997 Michael Schindler, michael@eiunix.tuwien.ac.at

The source code is not currently available. Object code is available.

For method "szip" the tests use the default options -b17 (1.7 Mbyte blocks), -o6 (order), -r1 (recordsize). For method "szip-b" the options are -b41 (4.1 Mbyte blocks) and -o10.
